Time to withdraw your Bitcoin Gold (BTG)

March 14, 2018

The time has come for you to withdraw your Bitcoin Gold (BTG) balance generated in your Xapo Wallet after the fork of October 24th, 2017.

During this event, anyone owning Bitcoin (BTC) at the moment of the fork received an identical amount of BTG. So if you had BTC at Xapo at the time of the fork, you received an equivalent amount of BTG, which is visible in your created Bitcoin Gold Pocket.

Even though the only digital currency supported by Xapo is BTC, we have voluntarily set up a process to allow users to withdraw their BTG to an external BTG address by June 14th, 2018 at 23:00 GMT. After this deadline, users that haven’t withdrawn their BTG are authorizing Xapo to convert them to BTC. This means that your entire BTG balance would be credited to your Xapo BTC Pocket. Please learn more about this mandatory 10-day conversion process and be aware of its rules here.

Whether you withdraw now your BTG to an external BTG account or you do nothing and undergo the mandatory conversion process after June 14th, we guarantee that the security of our operations and the safety of our customers’ assets will always be our main priority. Visit our FAQ section to find out how to convert your BTG, step by step.
